The “Connecting Memory” project presents and distributes the book-catalogue “Mass shootings. The Holocaust from Baltic to Black Sea 1941-1944”.

insidethegatesThe book-catalogue “Mass shootings. The Holocaust from Baltic to Black Sea 1941-1944” was published within the framework of the international German-Ukrainian project “Connecting memory”. This catalogue was created as a part of the exhibition organized by the “Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe” and “The Topography of Terror” foundations. This is a powerful result of joint research work of German, Ukrainian and Belarusian historians.

The book tells about systematic mass executions of Jewish children, women and men on the territories of Ukraine and Belarus. That is why it was so important for the authors to translate this work into the Ukrainian and Belarusian languages. The Roma, soviet military prisoners, communists, patients in psychiatric hospitals became the victims of mass shootings. This book contains stories not only of those who was killed, but also of the witnesses that survived the Holocaust. There are currently about two thousand execution sites in Ukraine.
