Marking the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Holocaust in Bukovina

insidethegatesThe memorial site “Memory threshold” in Chernivtsi has been introduced on 06th July 2021, in honor of the Holocaust victims in northern Bukovina and the city of Chernivtsi. In the very beginning of July 1941, Jews of Chernivtsi have been deported to camps in Transnistria.

The installation of the memorial site was supported by the German-Ukrainian project “80 years of Babyn Yar tragedy” in cooperation with the Ukrainian community of Dusseldorf and the Chernivtsi Museum of Jewish History of Bukovina.
