Jules Schelvis: Inside the Gates , A report of two years in German extermination and concentration camps

Being a Jew, Jules Schelvis, born in Amsterdam in 1921, was captured and deported together with his wife Rachel and her family, via Westerbork to Sobibor. His skills as a printer allowed him to survive with eighteen other people from a total of 34.313 Jews who were deported to Sobibor.
In 1993 Jules Schelvis published his first scientific book - words used by Professor Louis de Jong - about Sobibor Extermination camp which has already reached a seventh edition. Schelvis has also adapted "Inside the Gates" as a play".

Post-project meeting of the Museums: Rethinking

At the end of 2023, UCHS, with the support of the Stabilisation Fund for Culture and Education 2023 of the German Federal Foreign Office and the Goethe-Institut, completed the project Museums: Rethinking. The project was aimed to support local Ukrainian museums and cultural institutions, encourage their networking and communication with each other, and brought together participants from 16 cultural institutions from all over the country.
