International scientific and methodological seminar “History of genocides in Ukraine: study of experience and contemporary challenges”

insidethegatesWe invite you to take part in the international scientific and methodological seminar “History of genocides in Ukraine: study of experience and contemporary challenges” for history teachers of secondary schools of Kyiv. The seminar is organized by the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, Mémorial de la Shoah (Paris, France) and National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War

The seminar is devoted to the study and understanding of the events of the complicated history of Ukraine in the 20th century and the modern russian aggression against our country, as well as the modern challenges in teaching the topics of genocides in view of the personal experience of surviving gained by Ukrainians in the conditions of war and genocide in the 21st century. The seminar will be held on November 11-13, 2022 in the premises of National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War. The work of the seminar will last from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in safe conditions (the Museum has an equipped shelter in case of an air alert). The participants of the seminar will receive a certificate of professional development in the amount of 15 hours (0.5 ECTS credit).   • (No) Children’s Stories Exhibition returned to Chernivtsi

    In May-June 2024, Chernivtsi once again invited the interactive exhibition (No) Children’s Stories. This time, it was hosted by Chernivtsi Gymnasium No. 17, and initiated by history and law teacher Varvara Bodnariuk. The students of 7-9 grades volunteered to host the exhibition and during the month of the event, they gave tours to more than 400 people, including students from their school, other schools in the city, and even the mayor of Chernivtsi and a foreign delegation from Dusseldorf (Germany) with the mayor of the city.

    On 18-19 May, the seminar Learning from the Past - Acting for the Future was held in Kyiv. It was a joint event of The Olga Lengyel Institute, New York, and the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, funded by the Olga Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights.
