Bjorn Westlie. My Father’s War
(Translated from Norwegian by D. Nikandrov, M. Schchyrba; published by UCHS)
During the Second World War a young Norwegian Petter Westlie was a Nazi supporter and a Waffen-SS volunteer to fight for Gemany on the Eastern Front. When his son Bjorn grew up to realize his father’s actions, he broke off with him. It was only in many years that Brojn felt that his father wanted to tell his son about this past. Finally, Petter Westlie recorded the story on tape for him.

The aim of the collection is to attract attention of the historians, educators and wider audience to the problematic of the persecution and extermination of the Roma in Ukraine occupied by the Nazis in 1941-44. The book presents the issues understudied, the patterns of the historical sources which are still unexplored by the scholars, and the original testimonies recorded from the Roma survivors and those non-Roma eyewitnesses of the persecution.

The monograph by Dr. Wendy Lower "Nazi Empire-Building and the Holocaust in Ukraine" (originally published in 2005 by the University of North Carolina Press) has just been published in Ukrainian in Kiev by the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies (Transl. by Sergii Kolomiiets, Evgen Rovnyi. Ed. by Mikhail Tyagly. 368 p.).

Second World War and the Fate of Nations of Ukraine
Civic Committee "Babyn Yar" and Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies with the support of State Committee for Nationalities and Religions and in cooperation with the Institute for Political and Ethnic Studies of the National Academy of Science of Ukraine have published proceedings of the second all-Ukrainian conference "Second World War and the Fate of Nations of Ukraine" which took place in Kyiv on October 30-31, 2006. Contributors to the issue are well-known Ukrainian historians representing academic institutions and universities from every region of Ukraine.

Roads of Memory: How to Organize Memorial Visits to Mass Grave Sites
We would like to present guidelines for teachers, students and anyone wishing to contribute to commemorate Ukrainian Jews and Roma, who were cruelly murdered during WWII. The book aims to help organize educational trips to local memorial sites and mass graves. It is based on the experience of the Protecting Memory Project and its participating teachers and local activists.
