The new publications of the Center
We are glad to present the two new issues published by the Center that were earlier announced at the 20th Medvynskyi National Ukrainian competition for school students "History and lessons of the Holocaust":
"Let us remember. History and lessons of the Holocaust. The works of young researchers"
"Let us remember. History and lessons of the Holocaust. The works of young artists"
The winners of the competition this year will receive the issues by post, as well as the researchers and artists who contributed to the creation of the issue.

The 20th anniversary nationwide Illya Medvynskyi Students Competition "History and lessons of the Holocaust" is to be conducted online.
On the 15th-17th of May 2020, the Ukrainian Center for the Holocaust Studies holds the 20th-anniversary national Medvynskyi Students Competition "History and lessons of the Holocaust". Due to the situation connected to the COVID-19 pandemic together with the quarantine restrictions, the competition is to be conducted online.

ХІХ All-Ukrainian I.B. Medvinsky Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”
On 17-19 of May 2019 the ХІХ All-Ukrainian I.B. Medvinsky Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust” took place in Kyiv.

This year 56 research and art works were submitted to the competition, 34 of them were approved by the reviewers for the final presentation in Kyiv. -
ХVІІІ All-Ukrainian I.B. Medvinsky Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”, 2018
On 18-20 May 2018 the XVIII All-Ukrainian I.B. Medvinsky Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust” took place. This year over 70 school students applied for the competition with their research and art work. 42 of them were invited to the final session of the Competition representing 13-17 year old students and their tutors from 16 oblasts of Ukraine.

XVII All-Ukrainian I.B. Medvinsky Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”, school year 2016-2017
The XVII All-Ukrainian I.B. Medvinsky Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust” for academic year 2016-2017 took place on 19-21 May 2017 . It was organized by Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies with the support from the Eurasian Jewish Congress, The Association of Jewish Organizations and Communities (VAAD) of Ukraine and the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine.

XVI Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”
The XVI All-Ukrainian I.B. Medvinsky Competition of Students’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust” took place on 14-16 May in Kyiv. It was traditionally organized by Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies with the support from the Eurasian Jewish Congress and the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine.

XV Annual I.B. Medvinsky All-Ukrainian Students’ Competition of Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”
16-18 May 2015 was marked by the annual competition of students’ research and art works on the Holocaust taking place in Kyiv. This year over 50 participants have made it to the final part, all students of secondary educational establishments representing 12 oblasts of Ukraine. Next to them were represented some of their peers from Belarus and Moldova. In total the competition gathered over a 100 people: the participants, their tutors and the jury comprised of Ukrainian researchers and educators.

The I.B. Medvinsky Annual Competition of Students' Research and Art Works "History and Lessons of the Holocaust", the XIV round of Annual Competition of Students' Research and Art Works
On 16-18 May 2014 Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies under the support of Euro-Asian Jewish Congress held its annual competition of students’ research and art works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”. The competition drew attention of over 80 students of secondary educational establishments from 16 regions of our country.

The I.B. Medvinsky Annual Competition of Students' Research and Art Works "History and Lessons of the Holocaust", the XIII round of Annual Competition of Students' Research and Art Works
On 9 - 13 May 2013 the XIII Annual Competition of Students' Research and Art Works "History and Lessons of the Holocaust" took place traditionally in Pushcha Vodytsa by Kyiv. From this year on the competition will bear the name of its founder I.B. Medvinsky.

School Competition of Research and Art Works "Babyn Yar: Person, Authority, History. To 70th Anniversary of the Tragedy"
On June 5, 2011 in Kyiv Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies and Public Committee to Perpetuate the Memory of the Victims of Babyn Yar ("Babyn Yar" Public Committee) under the support of the French Embassy in Ukraine held a competition of pupils' research works, educational and art projects on "Babyn Yar: Person, Authority, History. To 70th Anniversary of the Tragedy", where pupils and teachers of Kyiv secondary schools took part.

The XII Annual Competition of Students' Research and Art Works on the Holocaust "History and Lessons of the Holocaust", 2011/2012 academic year
The dates for this years' XII Competition of Students' Research and Art Works on the Holocaust have been settled. In 2011/2012 academic year the Competition will take place on 20 - 22 April, as always in Kyiv. This year partners and sponsors to the Competition are Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and Embassy of Israel to Ukraine.

All Ukrainian Competition on Pupils "Research Works on the Holocaust"
From May 17-19, 2009 the final stage of the 9th annual All Ukrainian Competition on Pupils "Research Works on the Holocaust" took place in Kiev. Financially supported by the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress (EAJC), the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies (UCHS) was grateful to call the event an international one, welcoming not only pupils from all over Ukraine, but even from Belarus and Moldova.

VIII Annual All-Ukrainian Competition of Pupils' Research and Art Works "History and Lessons of the Holocaust"
The VIII Annual All-Ukrainian Competition of Pupils' Research and Art Works housed by Mayak sanatorium near Kyiv was organized by Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, Vaad of Ukraine and Euro-Asian Jewish Congress. Out of over 50 applications 33 works were recommended for presentation by the jury members, who evaluated all the works on 7 parameters. Except for the pupils' presentations the programme of the seminar included a workshop on preparing a research work, trainings on stereotypes and prejudice, round table discussions.

All-Ukrainian Competition of Pupils’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”
The youngest Ukrainian Holocaust researchers met to exchange experience in the small and green city of Vorzel near Kyiv on May 4-5, 2007. Official name of this meeting was “Annual All-Ukrainian Competition of Pupils’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of the Holocaust”. It was solemnly opened by the organizers: head of Eurasian Jewish Congress Joseph Zissels and director of Ukrainian Centre for Holocaust Studies Anatoly Podolsky. The participants we impressed not only by the speeches of the speakers, but also by the personality of Joseph Zissels: dissent of the 60s, organizer of the revival of Jewish community life in Ukraine.

History and Lessons of Holocaust
On May 12-14th in Kiev the Sixths Annual Competition of Pupils’ Research and Art Works “History and Lessons of Holocaust” took place. It was organized by Ukrainian Centre for Holocaust Studies and Eurasian Jewish Congress. Among the guest speakers were Joseph Zissels (the head of Vaad of Ukraine), Boris Zabarko (head of the All-Ukrainian Association of the Former Prisoners of Ghetto and Concentration Camps), Anatoly Podolsky (Ukrainian Centre for Holocaust Studies).

After the opening part, the participants started presentation of their works, judged by the respectable jury of scholars and teachers among whom we can name N.Yeriomenko, S.Kandeeva, Z.Kovba, I.Medvinskiy, Y.Smelyanskaya, T.Chaika, A.Fredekind, M.Tyagliy.

Roads of Memory: How to Organize Memorial Visits to Mass Grave Sites
We would like to present guidelines for teachers, students and anyone wishing to contribute to commemorate Ukrainian Jews and Roma, who were cruelly murdered during WWII. The book aims to help organize educational trips to local memorial sites and mass graves. It is based on the experience of the Protecting Memory Project and its participating teachers and local activists.
