Presentation of the project "Bykivnia, Babyn Yar, Bucha - Between the massacre and memory about it".
Today, it is important not only to compare the crimes of the three dictatorial regimes, but also to explain their nature, under what circumstances there is a real possibility of mass murder and its justification. This project shows that it is possible and worthwhile to compare the two totalitarian regimes of the twentieth century without diminishing the memory of either of them, and that it is also worth analysing Ruscism in the context of communism and Nazism.

History of the Holocaust in Ukraine: Research, Education, Commemoration. Educational seminar-school
On August 13-17, 2023, the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies held its annual educational seminar-school "The History of the Holocaust in Ukraine: Research, Education, Commemoration" in Kyiv. The seminar-school was attended by 25 teachers of history and other social studies from 14 regions of the country.

New publication: How to teach about the Holocaust after 24 February 2022
We are glad to share the proceedings of the working group on “How to teach about the Holocaust after 24 February 2022”. Throughout most of the summer the participants have been working on recommendations for their colleagues who already teach about the Holocaust but might need advice on what should change with regard to the ongoing russian aggression war against Ukraine. We held the first meetings of “How to talk about the Holocaust after February 24?” working group. The participants began preparation of the recommendations for colleagues concerning teaching the Holocaust in the context of ongoing war. The work takes place in groups, joint debates, discussions, and notes on an interactive board. This work is crucial for everybody who has taken part in first meeting, both for their own professional and personal development and sometimes emotional relief, as well as to create a useful advisor for colleagues.

Annual Education school-seminar "The Holocaust history in Ukraine: research, teaching, memories", 2020
On the 15th-29th of July 2020, the first part of the Education school-seminar "The Holocaust history in Ukraine: research, teaching, memories", an annual project held by the Ukrainian Centre for Holocaust Studies, took place. This year we received more than 70 applications from teachers, university professors, museum workers, and educators from 14 oblasts of Ukraine; 24 of them were chosen to participate in the seminar. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, the seminar happens in two steps: the first online part was conducted in July, and the second one will happen in Autumn, either online or in Kamianets Podilskyi.

Annual educational seminar-school in Holocaust studies and teaching about the Holocaust, Mykolayiv 2017
Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, in cooperation with Yad Vashem (Jerusalem) and under the support of the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine, Vaad of Ukraine and the Eurasian Jewish Congress held on 25 – 30 June 2017 the annual seminar-school in Holocaust studies and teaching about the Holocaust. Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, in cooperation with Yad Vashem (Jerusalem) and under the support of the Eurasian Jewish Congress and the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine held on 18-23 August 2-15 in Kirovohrad their annual seminar-school in Holocaust Studies and Education in Ukraine. Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies in cooperation with Yad Vashem Institute in Jerusalem and under the support of the Euro-Asian Jewish Congress and the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine held in summer 2014 its annual seminar-school in Holocaust studies and education for Ukrainian teachers of history and civics. The seminar took place in Chernihiv and gathered educators from 12 regions of Ukraine.

Annual Seminar in Holocaust Studies and Education, Poltava, 2013
Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies (UCHS) in cooperation with Yad Vashem Authority in Jerusalem and Euroasian Jewish Congress held on 30 June - 5 July 2013 the annual educational seminar in issues of Holocaust history and education for teachers of history and humanities. This year teachers from all over Ukraine and also Belarus and Moldova gathered in Poltava, Ukraine. Moreover, participants of 2013 had a chance to take part in an experiment: for the first time the annual seminar by UCHS lasted for 6 days, more than twice of the usual length.

Educational and Methodical Seminar in Holocaust History for Ukrainian Secondary School Teachers, Cherkasy, Ukraine
In 2012, after repeated invitations from our good colleagues, the annual seminar in Holocaust history was held in Cherkasy. Our friends, local educators, did a lot to help with organizing and content issues. But besides good colleagues the UCHS needed also financial support to run the event. And such came from the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies announces education-methodical seminar in Holocaust history
UCHS in cooperation with Yad Vashem Authority (Jerusalem) announces for summer 2011 an education-methodical seminar in the history of the Holocaust in Ukraine and issues of Holocaust education in Ukrainian schools. The seminar is aimed at teachers of history and civics of Ukrainian secondary schools. During the seminar exchange will take the form of lectures, discussions, trainings and guided tours to cover various aspects of the Holocaust history on Ukrainian lands and in Europe, specially focusing on policies of totalitarian regimes towards Jews, Nazi genocide against Jews, resistance movement, Ukrainian-Jewish relations in pre-war time and during the Holocaust, ideology of Nazi anti-Semitism etc. Part of the discussions will also touch upon methods of Holocaust education in the secondary school

Scientific-methodical seminar for history teachers from the Eastern Ukraine
15-16th of August 2008 Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies with the support of the International Task Force, in cooperation with the Yad-Vashem Authority (Jerusalem) All-Ukrainian Association of Teachers of History, Civic Education and Social Studies "NOVA DOBA" organises in Kharkiv a scientific-methodical seminar for history teachers on Holocaust studies and education. “Educational-Methodical Seminar on the History of the Holocaust for Ukrainian Schoolteachers” from 26th to 28th August
The Ukrainian Center for Holocaust studies announces the “Educational-Methodical Seminar on the History of the Holocaust for Ukrainian Schoolteachers” in Mukachevo. The main tasks of this seminar are to explain the reasons for the Holocaust, why it happened, its terrifying content, consequences and to give a guideline to the teachers, what and how to teach, if they are teaching about the Holocaust at their lessons.

All-ukrainian teachers' seminar
On February 9-11th, 2006 Ukrainian Centre for Holocaust Studies under the support of the Yad Vashem - the Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority (Jerusalem), Fund ICHEC and International Task Force are conducting an educative-methodical seminar on Holocaust History in Ukraine in Lviv. 45 teachers from various cities of Ukraine have been chosen as participants. Lectures and workshops were given by specialists from Ukraine, Great Britain, Israel, and Germany.

On 20 September 2024, a roundtable discussion on To Know and Remember: Current Research and Information Products on the Genocide of Roma during the Second World War was held in Kyiv. The event was initiated by the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Affairs and Freedom of Conscience (DESS) and brought together government officials, historians, educators, cultural figures and non-governmental organisations to discuss the importance of commemorating the Roma genocide and promoting knowledge about this tragedy.
