Scholar and methodological seminar "History of Genocides in Ukraine: Studies of Experience and Contemporary Challenges"

On November 11-12, 2022, an international scholar and practical seminar "History of genocides in Ukraine: study of experience and contemporary challenges" was held in Kyiv, organized by the Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, the Shoah Memorial (Paris, France) and the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War.

Despite all the difficulties of wartime, namely constant power outages or air alarms, the seminar was held, the work was fruitful and interesting! Sure thing, two working days are not enough to consider and discuss all the problems that were formulated in the seminar program! However, the Ukrainian educational community got acquainted with the experience of French colleagues and vice versa.
It turned out that there are a lot of common pain points in the creation of educational programs and textbooks in Ukraine and France. During the discussions, it was not without sharp disputes due to different attitudes towards the interpretation of the events of World War II. But the most important result of the seminar was establishing cooperation and opening a dialogue between Ukrainian and French colleagues.
