Annual educational seminar-school in Holocaust studies and teaching about the Holocaust, Mykolayiv 2017
Ukrainian Center for Holocaust Studies, in cooperation with Yad Vashem (Jerusalem) and under the support of the Embassy of the State of Israel to Ukraine, Vaad of Ukraine and the Eurasian Jewish Congress held on 25 – 30 June 2017 the annual seminar-school in Holocaust studies and teaching about the Holocaust. This year the seminar took place in Ochakiv, near Mykolayiv.
For the 6 days of the seminar-school the participants from all over Ukraine and their colleagues from Belarus could attend many lectures on Nazi propaganda, different victim groups of the Third Reich, the fate of Jews on Ukrainian territories, history and culture of Ukrainian Jews etc. They also focused on the workshops on methodological aspects of teaching about the Holocaust, interdisciplinary links and psychological aspects of education. Post-project meeting of the Museums: Rethinking
At the end of 2023, UCHS, with the support of the Stabilisation Fund for Culture and Education 2023 of the German Federal Foreign Office and the Goethe-Institut, completed the project Museums: Rethinking. The project was aimed to support local Ukrainian museums and cultural institutions, encourage their networking and communication with each other, and brought together participants from 16 cultural institutions from all over the country.
